Remember when Facebook pretended to be so loving to alternative genders?
And so they gave us about five hundred options for gender? That move came to us from a transgendered employee who goes by the name Zip online. And guess what?
Facebook told her that she has to use her “real name.” And blocked her account. You think maybe employees from within receiving this treatment will change their stupid fucking mind about this policy?
“I always knew this day would come. The day that Facebook decided my name was not real enough and summarily cut me off from my friends, family and peers and left me with the stark choice between using my legal name or using a name people would know me by. With spectacular timing, it happened while I was at trans pride and on the day the Supreme Court made same sex marriage legal in the US.”
And then she pointed out her situation’s most ironic “twist,” saying, “I used to work there. In fact, I’m the trans woman who initiated the custom gender feature. And the name I go by on Facebook? That’s the name that was on my work badge.”
Facebook, you did not belong at Pride. You are not LGBT friendly. You are the most ridiculous fucking website. You are truly the Hitler of the fucking web. Way too much power for your own good, got your hand in all of our lives, and we have to show you papers in order to be able to participate in what you’ve completely taken over.
