You wanna talk about wishful thinking! But it is a fun article. If they only spent as much energy on things Jesus said to do, as they do on having a hissy fit that people are marrying, we’d have a lot fewer problems.
That’s what they say. But in reality, before they were organized against teh gay, they were expending energy on other things.
They’d eat a lot more fried chicken.
They’d spend a lot more time in tents trying to revive something.
They’d spend more time beating their children.
They’d maybe pick up that bible form their coffee table every now and then, because it’s the closest thing by to kill the giant cockroach with.
And then they’d spend more time shooting things.
I don’t know. I think we kept them busy so they couldn’t do as much harm as they usually do. The country should thank the gays for taking one for the team. It’s like we kept them distracted from their usual nuttery. Thankfully we won marriage equality but we still have a lot of fight left for discrimination and other things, so it’s not over.
But when it is, do you think you’ll see them do the things that Jesus did?
Will they go to all the megachurches and overturn tables and whip people for turning their “father’s house” into a “den of thieves,” or just saunter to the ATM to buy more shit?
I think my point is made.
